John Carroll Beats Mt St Joe For The 1st Time Ever
On the strength of 7 consecutive wins from 103-140, and a fall by the 'pinmaster', Mathew Miller, the Patriots were able to finally beat perrenial powerhouse, Mt St Joseph. Coming up huge to basically seal the win, was back up wrestler Josh Moscati, who came from behind towin in overtime. It was the first Patriot win over MSJ in John Carroll wrestling history.
JC Downs Tuscarora But Gets Thumped By Spalding
Wednesday night JC took on Tuscarora from Frederick and Archbishop Spalding in a tri meet at Spalding. In the featured match, #3 John Carroll lost to #1 Spalding 47-14. The bright spot though was a win over Tuscarora, 49-20, which was #200 for JC under the current coaching staff
JV Patriots Take 2nd At Husky Tournament
Despite only entering 11 wrestlers, the Patriot back up wrestlers were albe to manage 2nd place out of a field of 16 at Patterson Mill. Individual titles were won by Justin Freeman, Dan Kelble and TJ Centi. Down 10-5, Centi came up with a monster headlock to win the match. Finishing in 2nd place were Josh Moscati and Rob Stahl.
Six Patriot Grapplers Make Honor Roll
Ryan Etkins, Rob Clingerman, Joseph Virtucci, Alex Burdeshaw, Tj Centi and Justin Freeman were named to the Honor Roll for the marking period that just ended.
