JC Wrestling 2/14/11


 
 
JC Places 5th At MIAA's 
The Pat's placed 5th in one of the toughest MIAA tournaments ever. Mathew Miller pinned thru the tournament; George Weber and Scott Strappelli placed 2nd and Artie Millner 4th; Joe Vitucci and Chris Grimm 5th; Dan Froehlich and Rob Clingerman were 6th. Devin Davis took ill and missed day #2 .  JC finished 2nd last season
 
John Carroll Wraps Up The Dual Meet Season 16-5
The 2010-2011 dual meet portion of the season ended with a huge win over Mt St Joe.  Along the way, we beat Curley for only the 2nd time;  We won the Battle of Bel Air VIII, to even the series at 4-4; And we split wins with McDonogh at 7 each.
 
Three Former JC Wrestlers Shine On Rugby Pitch
Former Patriot grapplers, Ethan Reese, Matt Bodt and Brock Brooks, helped Salisbury University's rugby team beat the US Naval Academy over the weekend.  SSU is one of the top programs in the country again this year.
 
Former JC All American Wrestler Featured In The Aegis
The Aegis recently featured former JC wrestler and football player, John Von Paris's journey from 2 year Varsity wrestler, to State Runner Up his 1st year on Varsity, to undefeated State Champ and All American his senior year...thru his recently completed All American football season at Bucknell University.  John will take a position with accounting firm, Ernst and Young after graduating this May.  In the story, John credits wrestling with helping him develop the work ethic, toughness and hand fighting skills that made him a success on the football field
 
Next Up:  Maryland Independent States at McDonogh --- This friday and saturday
