John Carroll Wrestling 1/8/12

Pats Take Iron Horse Title.....
In a total team effort, John Carroll won the Ultimate Struggle Trophy for the 3rd time in 9 years.  Thanks to a much needed, come-from-behind fall by jr, Dan Kelble (195), JC outpaced defending public school champs, LaPlata, in the finals, 33-31.  JC was 7-0 for the tournament as a team.  Individually, Steven Jernigan I(120/126) and Devin Davis (113/120) were 6-0, while Scott Strappelli (138), Chris Almony (145/152) and George Weber (145/152) were 5-0. 
 
JC Dominates The Dons......
Last wednesday the visiting Don's were on the recieving end of a 50-25 thumping, thanks to a 7 bout win streak to wrap up the dual.  In a featured match up, freshman, Hunter Ritter pinned MD's # 10 Joe Moreno in the 2nd period
 
Next Up.....
This wednesday, Rising Sun and Calvert County's Huntingtown come to JC for a tri meet.  Both teams are ranked in MD.  The action starts at 4:30, with Rsining Sun v Huntingtown; 6pm, Huntingtown v JC; 7:30 JC v Rising Sun.  (times are approximate). 
Friday and Saturday, JC's Varsity is at the Franklin Tournament in Reistertown taking on many state and nationally ranked wrestlers from Baltimore area teams, Centennial, Curley, Westminister, etc
Friday, JC's varsity back ups travel to Glen Elg for a dual at 4:30
