JC Wrestling Newsletter 12/26

 
Patriot's Bury Bobcats
A crowd in excess of 500 attended the Battle Of Bel Air 2011, and watched the Patriots run away with the win 52-17.  To start things off, at 145, George Weber recorded a 2nd period pin; at 152, freshman, Chris Almony won a major decision; at 160 senior Zach Donato pinned his Bobcat in the 2nd period; freshman, Hunter Ritter won a hard fought 7-0 decision at 170; junior, Dan Kelble managed a 6-3 victory at 195 followed by senior, Raheal Oduok's 8-4 win at 220.  Freshman, CJ Skokowski, earned a major decison at 106, which was followed by fellow freshman, Zach Dwyer's 1st period pin at 113.  Artie Milner pinned his opponent at 120; freshman, Steven Jernigan pinned his guy and Scott Strappelli ended the match with a technical fall (17-1).  In addition, there were a few milestones last friday night.  Junior, Co-Captains, Scott Strappelli and George Weber won thier 100 high school matches...and senior, 1st year wrestler, Rapheal Oduok, won his 1st match.
 
125+ Attended Alumni Reception Following the Battle of Bel Air
Following the Bel Air match last friday, over 125 enjoyed food, drink and conversation supplied by the Friends Of JC Wrestling, in the Brown Room.  In attendance were JC wrestlers and their parents from years past
 
WRESTLEPALOOZA
This year's match will be a tough one, against Loyola.  The Don's are always fired up for a match vs the Pat's.  John Carroll has won 6 of the last 7 meetings.  This year, Varsity will wrrestle at 3:30 on Jan 4th in the main gym...followed by the JV in the lower gym
