Mathew Miller Wins States...Again
Senior, Mathew Miller dominated the MD Independent States again this year, pinning all of his 171 lb opponents, just like last year. Mathew is JC's 1st 2x State Champ. Sophomore, George Weber improved on last year's 3rd place finish, to take 2nd at 125. Sophomore and returning champion, Scott Strappelli placed 3rd at 119 and Sophomore, Artie Millner was 5th at 103
3 Patriots Move On To Nationals
Mathew Miller enters the National Preps as the #3 seed looking to improve on his 4th place finish last year. Last year's 6th place finisher, George Weber, a returning All American, enters as the 5th seed and Scott Strappelli is seeded 4th. The 76th National Preps Wrestling Tournament will be held at Lehigh Univ next weekend. Last year, JC placed 21st out of 151 schools.
JC Earns MIAA sportsmanship Award For 2010-2011
For the second time, John Carroll's Wrestling team was voted by the Md Wrestling Official's Association as having demonstrated the best sportsmanship in the MIAA.
JC won the award in 2003-2004 as well.
