States....
JC placed 6 wrestlers in the top eight at last weekend MD Independent State Tournament. But only 5 qualify for Nationals this weekend. At States, juniors, Scott Strappelli and George Weber made the finals, but neither were able to claim state titles. Freshman, Chris Almony and Hunter Ritter, both lost in the quarter finals, but were able to wrestle back to 5th place. Fellow freshman, Zach Dwyer finished in 7th place, but qualifies for Nationals as the 1st alternate. Junior, Dan Kelble ended the season by placing 8th at 195. In addition, Chris Almony earned the Most Falls, Least Time trophy. The same award that state champion, Mathew Miller earned last year.
Next up.....National Preps at Lehigh Univeristy. Wrestlers from 172 private schools will compete, including the country's #1 ranked high school team, Blair Academy (NJ) and #2 Wyoming Seminary (PA)
