JC Wrestling News 12/5/11

Patriots Ranked #5 pre-Season By Varsity Sports Network
Despite an effort to start the season 'off the radar' VSN reporter and long time wrestler, CJ Malinowski let the cat out of the bag.  CJ is a Harford County resident and former Bel Air High School wrestler who writes freelance for the Sun, Aegis and VSN among others.  You can see the rest of CJ's rankings at:
 
 
2011-2012 Campaign Starts Tomrrow

Alumni Update
Mathew Miller (JC '11) continues to impress with great showings vs D-1 talent. Mathew went 6-2 with 5 falls at this past weekend's Nittany Lion Open at Penn State.  Mathew and the Naval Acdemy Prep School team compete this Sunday at the UMBC Duals at.....UMBC.  The action starts at 10:00.  Come out and watch Mathew in action!
 
Eric Hart (JC '10) helped the Salisbury State football team to an 11-2 record and the D-III playoffs.  The Gulls lost to defending D-III champs, Wisconsin-Whitwater this past Saturday.  Eric has done a great job as kicker for the Gulls, averaging 59 yards on kickoffs, with 14 touchbacks.  Against UW-W he had a kickoff to the 1 and 4 yardlines.
 
Ethan Reese (JC '10), Matt Bodt and Brock Brooks (both JC '09) helped Salisbury State's Rugby team to a 10-0 fall season and a Potomac and Mid Atlantic Rugby Unions championship.
 
Ryan Owens (JC '10) and the Stevens Tech Ducks Wrestling Team are ranked 17th in D-3.  Ryan wrestles in the 149lb weight class.  The Ducks will be in Baltimore on February 12th at Johns Hopkins.
