Patriots Place 10th At Mount Mat Madness
John Carroll participated in the MD's toughest tournament this past weekend and placed 10th out of the 30 team field, despite entering only 11 wrestlers.
The Patriots were able to finish ahead of perrennial, MD powers, DeMatha, Mt St Joe and Archbishop Curley, but 8 points behind #8 McDonogh.
Individually, Dan Froehlich won his 100th Varsity match...and followed up with his 101st against a former state champ from Curley.
Sophmores, George Weber and Scott Strappelli placed 5th and 6th respectively, while senior Mathew Miller placed 2nd, losing 2-1 to a 3x state champ
from Southern Garrett in the finals.
Gold Team Wins The Saint Challenge
JC's back up and select varsity wrestlers won the team title at Baltimore Lutheran's "Saint Challenge" this past Saturday. JC outlasted Baltimore's Southwestern,
thumped Baltimore Lutheran and The Jemicy School, before narrowly edging out The MD School For The Deaf, 34-31. TJ Centi and Josh Moscati were 4-0 on the day.
Battle Of Bel Air This Friday At JC
The 8th Battle Of Bel Air takes place at JC this Friday at 6:30. Bel Air has a 4-3 lead in the series. The varsity match will be preceded by the Fallston Jr Wrestling taking
on the Bel Air Jr's at 5:00. The Patriot JV team will take on 2 JV teams from Bel Air in the lower gym starting at 4:30. There will be a reception for Alumni and Parents
following the Varsity match in the Brown Room. Refreshments and snacks will be served. Tell everyone you know! All are welcome!
